Do It Yourself

The story of how Matt Damon came to stardom is pretty interesting.

He was looking for a prominent role in a movie. Nobody would cast him in the role, so he wrote his own script and cast himself in the role. Problem solved.

He was back to being a largely unknown actor, sleeping on friends floors in LA, with endless competition. He’d get an occasional minor role, but was making less than when he was a teenager.

He needed a breakout role. But no one was giving it to him.

So, he decided to do it himself.

He dusted off a script he had started in college, and with a friend put serious time into turning the half-written document into an actual screenplay. When they thought they finally had something, they started shopping it around. And, it wasn’t half bad. They got some interest from a big name studio, and made a deal.

How Can I Find Someone To Help Me?

There’s lots of reasons to wait in web development. A graphic designer to create the interface. A front-end developer to bring the interface to life. A back-end developer to handle all the server stuff. A sys-eng to keep the servers running optimally. There’s literally no shortage of reasons to wait.

Many people wait because they’re not good at the task.

Instead of waiting, do it yourself. It’s not as hard as you think. You won’t be awesome from day one, but your early attempts are good enough and you will get better.

Or as a wise creature once put it:

Sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something.
